Trail Work Day! Hooper 2/28/15 8AM!

Post by Robin » Tue Feb 17, 2015 8:15 am

Need to work on erosion at Hooper and Connection! Meet us at 8am - we park in the back of the field at Hooper.

Bring Shovels - Loppers - and could use a blower again to clear trail debris so that it dries faster.

REMEMBER - Hooper will be CLOSED from 8am to 12pm for your safety and the safety of the volunteers.

After the work day - a few of us plan to grab some lunch and then head to the Tin Roof Iron Brewer for a little taste testing at 1:00pm (so bring some clothes to change into) and come join the fun!

Thanks to the following people who came out to do trail maintenance at the Hooper Road Trails yesterday. They put up the wood for a new map on Power Line trail, Trimmed face slappers and picked up trash, moved rock to the Hard Tail bridges to help control erosion under the entrance and exit of the bridge on the return side and blew off the trails from the pavilion to the end of Hard Tail. Hopefully I didn't miss anybody or anything.

Again a big thanks to everyone who could come out and help.

From Robin
The gravel on the Lake Trail was spread out, Cline opened up the original climb on the Rabbit Hole since with new one is constantly facing erosion issues, also worked on the section after you come across the bridge under the overpass and a nice view of the Penny Lake (on the newly re-named Penny Lane trail - formerly called Horse Trail) was opened up with two huge bags of trash removed from this trail section alone. LOTS got accomplished so THANK YOU for coming out and lending a hand!
